Greenwood County narcotics officers arrested a Laurens County man Wednesday, who now faces drug charges after agents found drugs in his vehicle.
Mykel Jackson, 27, of Clinton, was charged with possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute and simple possession of marijuana in connection with the incident.
State Law Enforcement Division agents and deputies from the Laurens County Sheriff's Office asked for assistance Wednesday from Greenwood County's drug enforcement task force in locating the man, who faces several outstanding arrest warrants in Laurens County. SLED agents tracked the suspect to the Greenwood Mall.
SLED agents knew the suspect to frequently drive a red pickup truck and spotted him walking out of the mall and enter the vehicle. That's when officers arrested the man, and found $600 in cash and a set of digital scales in his pockets. LCSO deputies then used a drug sniffing canine to locate drugs in the vehicle, and found a bag with four grams of crack cocaine as well as a bag containing two grams of a substance thought to be marijuana inside.
