McCORMICK – A change in leadership is in store for the John de la Howe School.
John de la Howe's board of trustees on Friday voted unanimously to out current school president Thomas Mayer at an emergency-called meeting.
The board approved "a voluntary separation" regarding Mayer.
Mayer was caught off guard by the news.
"I can't really comment, because I wasn't aware of the action," Mayer said when reached by phone.
Mayer is currently on medical leave through the Family Medical Leave Act through Feb. 24.
Mayer has 45 days to resign, the Board said.
