A Hodges man was arrested Tuesday after a 7-year-old boy was stabbed.
Steven Hatcher, 17, of 6416 S.C. Highway 178 N., was charged with first-degree assault and battery in connection with the incident.
The victim was transported to Self Regional Medical Center and admitted to the emergency room. According to a Greenwood County incident report:
A deputy met paramedics at the hospital and saw cuts on the boy's left calf and the left side of his back near his ribs. The suspect's sister and mother confirmed the suspect stabbed the boy. The suspect's mother told officers he has a bad temper and this was not the first time he had attacked the victim, who is one of his relatives. She said he had never attacked the boy with a weapon before.
