A Greenwood woman was arrested late Wednesday afternoon following an alleged break-in at an apartment complex.
Dorothy Anthony, 43, of 120 Taggart Ave., was charged with burglary in connection with the incident.
Greenwood police responded to New Market Street just before 5 p.m. where the victim and suspect were found.
According to a Greenwood police report, the victim, who lives at New Haven Apartments along New Market Street, told officers through a translator he left his apartment door open and went to a neighbor's apartment for a short time. When he returned, he saw the suspect inside his unit holding his shirt sacked with several items inside it. He said the woman ran out the back door when she saw him, and he chased her for several blocks before police arrived.
The victim said the woman dropped the shirt containing the stolen items sometime during the foot chase, and he retrieved them from behind a row of apartments along Gilliam Court. Three people identified the suspect as the woman who broke into the victim's apartment when officers arrived, saying they never lost sight of her after she fled the scene. The woman denied any involvement.
