Greenwood teen faces weapons charge

One teen was arrested over the weekend in connection with a fistfight last month that involved a gun.
Andre Carter, 19, of 116 Redwood St., Greenwood, was charged with drawing weapon in affray and disorderly conduct in connection with the incident, which occurred the evening of Feb. 3.
Witnesses told officers the suspect was one of four people who stormed into a residence on Tennessee Court, just off S.C. Highway 34, to fight the victim. According to a city police report, an 18-year-old female victim and several witnesses told police the group entered the home following a volley of texts sent back and forth between the victim and a member of the quartet. That included a 17-year-old female. One of the four then attacked the victim, punching her several times in the face. At some point during the incident, the witnesses said the suspect struck the victim in the head, causing her to fall down.
The altercation then spilled outside, where the suspect produced a gun and told everyone to "move back." Witnesses also said the man threatened to return and shoot up the residence.
