Greenwood city police found 8.7 grams of cocaine during a traffic stop early Friday morning.

Richard Scott, 23, of 140 Oakland St., and Devan Partlow, 24, of 127 Russell St., were charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine. According to a Greenwood police report, police made a traffic stop because of loud music coming from a car, with the final stop being in the parking lot in front of New Haven Apartments off New Market Street.

The officers conducted a search of the vehicle because there was a strong odor of marijuana inside the vehicle. During the search, police discovered a white powder substance in a stack of papers removed from the glove box. The substance was field tested, and tested positive for cocaine.
