Greenwood man faces gun charges

A north Greenwood man was arrested following reports of a shooting in Mathews Mill Village on Wednesday night.
Keith Kwarsick, 18, of 106 Trafalgar Square, Greenwood, was charged with discharging a firearm in city limits and unlawful carrying of a pistol in connection with the incident.
City patrolman apprehended the man driving on South Main Street minutes after several reports of shots fired on Edgefield Street near Chace Avenue. According to a Greenwood police report:
Officers found a silver, unloaded .22-caliber pistol on the floorboard of the vehicle the suspect was driving when officers pulled him over. When questioned, the man gave officers several different stories about his whereabouts during the shooting and where he got the gun. The victim told officers he was sitting on his porch and saw the suspect drive by and fire three shots at his residence with a silver handgun. He said the suspect then drove from the scene heading north. Several neighbors also reported hearing three gunshots at the time.
