A Greenwood man faces drug charges following an arrest Thursday.
Ethan Harris, 23, of 238 Wheatfield Drive, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of other substance in schedule III with intent to distribute and possession of controlled substance in connection with the incident.
Agents from the Drug Enforcement Unit, a multi-jurisdictional narcotics task force, responded to a Greenwood residence to serve an active arrest warrant on the suspect. According to a Greenwood County incident report, agents located the man in a back bedroom, and found four pain killer tablets, which is schedule III controlled substance, in his pockets. Officers then searched the home and found more than 122 grams of a substance believed to be marijuana in a bedroom closet near a water heater. Agents located a small amount of the suspected drug in another drawer and a set of digital scales.
Officers noted the residence was filthy and in disarray, with roaches, dirty diapers and clothes scattered throughout the home. There was a 5-year-old, two 3-year-olds and two babies inside the home during the search. Officers noted the children appeared to be in good health and in no immediate danger, but did indicate the recovered marijuana was found within the reach of three of the children. Agents indicated they will follow up with the Department of Social Services at a later date to investigate the situation.
