Greenwood man faces charge in officer's assault

A local man is facing assault charges from the Greenwood County Sheriff's Office following a traffic stop late Thursday night.
Robert Coleman Emily, 24, of 216 Candle Drive, Greenwood, was charged with assaulting an officer.
According to a report, deputies stopped the truck Emily was riding in at 11:40 p.m. Thursday on the suspicion of intoxicated driving.
While one deputy spoke with the driver and began field sobriety tests, another deputy dealt with the suspect on the passenger side. The report said the suspect tried to strike the officer in the face.
While deputies handcuffed the suspect, he continued trying to hit them. A deputy Tasered the suspect twice before gaining control and handcuffing him. The suspect was examined by Greenwood County EMS before being transported to the Greenwood County Detention Center.
The truck's driver, Regan Berkley Chrisley, 25, of 154 Highland Drive, Greenwood, was also arrested and charged with driving under suspension and reckless driving.
