A car crash led to one man's arrest late Monday night.
Robert Brown, 39, of 331 Washington St., Greenwood, was charged with driving under the influence and two counts of child endangerment in connection with the incident.
Officers responded to New Market Street just before 10:30 p.m. following a report a vehicle crashed into a tree. According to a Greenwood police report, a witness told officers he heard the crash and went to help. He saw two small children in the car unrestrained.
Officers arrived at the scene and smelled an odor of alcohol coming from the man as they questioned him about the crash. Police conducted a field sobriety test, which the man failed and he was arrested. The children were taken to Self Regional Medical Center. The man was taken to the Greenwood County Law Enforcement Center and blew a breath sample of .15 percent. He told officers at the scene of the wreck he was leaving his brother's house and said he'd had two beers an hour prior to the crash.
One of the children suffered a minor cut and the other was uninjured.
