A Greenwood man died following a single-vehicle crash along Bucklevel Road early Wednesday morning.
Greenwood County Coroner Sonny Cox identified the victim as Dexter Raynard Norman Jr., 21, of 328 Greenbriar Drive. He indicated Norman died of injuries he sustained in the wreck.
According to preliminary reports from the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the wreck occurred at 5:15 a.m. about 5.2 miles north of city limits. Norman was driving a 2004 Chevrolet that veered off the right side of the roadway and he lost control of the vehicle. It overturned and Norman was ejected from the vehicle, which struck a guide wire and a pasture fence, Lance Cpl. Tony Keller indicated.
Norman was not wearing a seat belt and was airlifted to Greenville, where he died at 7:57 a.m. Wednesday.
