Greenwood man charged after allegedly trying to buy too much pseudoephedrine

A Greenwood man was arrested Monday and faces drug charges.
Joshua Ritter, 28, of 1915 S.C. Highway 72/221, was charged with distribution of meth and attempting to obtain a prescription drug in connection with the incident.
Greenwood County narcotics agents discovered the suspect attempted to buy 2.88 grams of a decongestant containing pseudoephedrine from a Walgreens pharmacy in Greenwood on Aug. 13. Pseudoephedrine is a precursor chemical needed to cook methamphetamine.
According to a Greenwood County incident report:
The suspect was blocked from purchasing any items containing pseudoephedrine because he had exceeded the federal purchasing limits for the month.
Agents from the county Drug Enforcement Unit watched surveilled a confidential informant purchase a small quantity of meth from the suspect earlier this month at his home.
