Greenwood police are investigating a weekend shooting that left a home riddled with bullets.
According to a Greenwood police report, officers responded to a residence along North Hospital Street just after 3:30 a.m. Saturday and found multiple shell casings in the road in front of the home.
Officers found five bullet holes into the exterior of the residence and fresh shoe prints on the front door as if someone had tried to kick it open.
One of the residents told officers they "hang out" near Taggart Avenue and said they thought the incident was in retaliation for a shooting along Spring Valley Road on Thursday night, which left a 22-year-old man injured with a gunshot wound to the buttocks.
Investigators noted multiple bullets were fired through a window, and one went through a living room wall and a bedroom wall, lodging about two feet above a headboard. Police also found at least three different caliber shell casings in the roadway, and noted a bullet lodged in a vehicle parked outside the home.
