Greenwood County Council is still in the process of determining who the county’s next auditor will be.
The county has been in search of a new auditor since the sudden resignation of previous auditor Gina Humphreys in February. Humphreys was the county’s auditor for only about four months.
In her resignation letter, Humphreys told county manager Toby Chappell she didn’t think she was a “good fit” for the auditor post and said she planned on changing her career direction.

County assessor Vivian Lancaster has been filling in as interim auditor since Humphreys’ resignation. County Council is now in the process of examining applications to fill the position.
“The auditor position application process closed on March 24,” Chappell said. “We are moving forward in the process.”
