GREENVILLE - Charles Morgan Stuart, Jr., 70, of Greenville, died December 3, 2013 at Richard Campbell Veterans Nursing Home in Anderson.
Born February 18, 1943, he was a son of the late Charles M., Sr., and Edna Sanders Stuart. Having grown up in Clemson, he was a graduate of Daniel High School and was a King Teen scholar to Wofford College. While at Wofford Charles was on the Wofford baseball team, where he earned the nick name "Chick" and served as vice president of the student body. He also served as president of the SAE Fraternity, was a Blue Key Society member and was a member of the Senior Order of Gnomes. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law and received his LLM in estate planning from the University of Miami. He proudly served his country as a Captain in the US Army Signal Corps.
Charles started his own law firm in Greenville in 1986 and practiced as an estate planning attorney until his retirement.
He was a member of Taylors First Baptist Church.
Surviving are his daughters, Mary Dameron Stuart Milliken and husband James Irwin, Jr. and their children, James Irwin "Win" Milliken, III and Virginia Colton "Coles" Milliken, all of Columbia and Margaret Stuart Murphy and husband Marshall Pickens and their son, William Pence "Penn" Murphy, all of Greenville; a son, Charles Morgan, III and wife Marjorie Trowbridge Stuart of Columbia; a dear friend, Dee Dee Callison of Greenville; sisters, Mary and husband Dr. Charles Bailey Bobo of Greenwood and Genie and husband Joseph Warren Sellers of Asheville; a brother, Dr. William Robert Stuart of Greenville.
Memorial services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Taylors First Baptist Church, with Dr. Jason Hodges officiating.
Burial will be at 3:30 Friday afternoon in Bethlehem Cemetery in Greenwood.
Family members are at their respective homes and will receive friends in the church narthex from 12:30 to 1 Friday afternoon.
