A Cross Hill man was arrested at a Greenwood apartment complex Tuesday night after officers found a pickle jar allegedly filled with marijuana.
Mario Peterson, 21, of 3757 Harris Springs Road, Cross Hill, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana in connection with the incident.
According to a city police report, agents from the county drug enforcement task force were patrolling the area near New Haven Apartments, 207 New Market St., about 9:45 p.m. Tuesday and saw a group of people gathered around a vehicle.
When agents approached, the suspect placed an object, later determined to be a fully-loaded .38-caliber revolver, on the floorboard of the vehicle. Officers searched the car and found 41 grams of a substance thought to be marijuana in a Mt. Olive pickle jar stashed in the trunk.
