One of the most important positions in Lakelands infrastructure received a pay bump Thursday.

The Greenwood Commissioners of Public Works voted 3-0 Thursday morning to increase CPW General Manager Steve Reeves by 6 percent. The pay increase takes Reeves salary from $180,564.80 to $191,401.60. Reeves received a 2 percent cost-of-living increase this past year but had not received a merit pay increase in the past six years.

"We thought he deserved a pay increase," said Henry Watts, Chairman of CPW. "He hadn’t had a raise in about six years. And we recently did away with two positions – public relations director and assistant manager – and he’s filled those two positions and provided additional leadership."
