Did you feel the earth move?
According to dispatchers on 911, there was an earthquake Friday night. According to the U.S. Geologic Survey website, an earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale centered in Edgefield County rocked the area.
On Facebook, people in Atlanta, as far east as Charleston and as far north as North Carolina reported they felt the quake.
A woman from Ninety Six called in and said she was shaken out of her bed from the quake.

Saluda and Abbeville county officials reported they were inundated with calls. Saluda County EMD Joshua Morton said the county had 130 calls within a 30-minute time frame along with other calls.
“We have experienced earthquakes in the past, but in recent years I don’t believe we’ve had one of this magnitude,” Morton said. “I can’t tell you that for sure, but I don’t remember having one of this magnitude off the top of my head.”
Greenwood County Emergency Services Director Derek Kinney said people should not call 911 to report the earthquake. He advised residents to call emergency management at 864-942-8553.
