Martin Luther King Jr. often stressed the value of a quality education.
On Saturday, youngsters and adults gathered in Greenwood to embrace that same ideal.
The annual Martin Luther King Jr. Youth Forum was in the auditorium at Brewer Community Complex. The event featured singing, praise dancing and greetings from various elected officials and community leaders.

The forum also featured breakout sessions for teen boys and girls on the value of education and the importance of making the right choices. There also was a forum for adults, which was focused on the roles and responsibilities of parents in the futures of their children.
Greenwood resident Leonard Martin has organized the Martin Luther King Jr. Youth Forum for several years. He said a desire to help young people keeps him coming back each year.
