Austin Thompson made two huge sacks for the Abbeville High School football team against Christ Church last Friday.

After the Panthers scored to pull within a touchdown at 28-21, Thompson knifed through the line and corralled Cavalier quarterback Andrew Slade, slinging him to the ground and forcing a fumble. Abbeville did not recover, but the lost yardage put Christ Church well behind the sticks and eventually led to a punt.

Later, on a third-and-goal, Thompson broke through the line again and threw down Slade for a big loss, forcing Christ Church to kick a 42-yard field that missed wide left.
