It was an evening of southern elegance under the moonlit night sky Saturday as hundreds poured into the Little River Multicultural Complex in Hodges for the 26th annual Mid-Winter Ball.
This year's volley of festivities featured a silent auction, an autographing session by Hall of Fame golfer Nancy Lopez, and endless supplies of funk music upon which to dance the night away. Greenwood Capital and Countybank served as the title sponsors for the black-tie affair this year, as the Self Regional Healthcare Foundation hosted the soiree.

Event officials anticipated they would net more than $100,000 from more than 50 community businesses, organizations and donors during the annual Self Regional fundraiser. The proceeds from this year's ball will go toward benefitting the hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
"We want to thank the community for making the 26th annual Mid-Winter Ball such a tremendous success," Self Regional Healthcare President and CEO Jim Pfeiffer said. "Without the support of our sponsors and the community, we wouldn't be able to make such a generous contribution to the Joseph B. Abney Women's Center in support of our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit."
