A group of military veterans appeared before Greenwood County Council in February to share its aggressive plans to establish a memorial plaza in front of the Greenwood County Veterans Center on Main Street.
On Monday, those veterans shared those plans with the City of Greenwood.

Jim Dominick, of the Veterans Hall of Heroes Inc. board of directors, addressed Greenwood City Council on Monday night. He said veterans make up a significant portion of the county population and are a major cultural and economic driver locally.
“There are currently 5,167 living veterans in Greenwood,” Dominick said. “In the year 2012, there was $31,732,000 that came into the Greenwood area through Greenwood veterans in the form of health care, educational assistance and compensation.”
