Families lined the streets, with children teetering with anticipation along the sidewalk, waiting anxiously for the Ware Shoals Christmas Parade to begin.
For the kids, this meant buckets filled with candy canes and other holiday treats thrown by people on floats passing by.
Eight classic cars led the procession that began at Ware Shoals High School and continued through the west end of town.
Originally scheduled for Dec. 14, the parade was postponed until Saturday because of torrential downpours last week.
According to town clerk Heather Fields, the parade included 42 entries this year.
Entrants included Cub and Boy Scouts from Troop 902, Pack 18, the Xtravadance Dance Studio, American Red Cross and various other school and community organizations.
