SALUDA — It wasn’t hard to tell what Abbeville High School boys basketball coach Doug Belcher’s favorite part was of Friday night’s game against Saluda.
He was yelling it to his players before they even made it to the locker room.
“Thirty-two minutes!” he exclaimed. “That was a complete 32 minutes!”

Indeed, Abbeville started well and led after every quarter before making some key baskets in the fourth quarter to down Saluda with a 56-48 victory.
“We talked about playing a complete game (Friday), and where it would put us in the region if we played a complete game,” said Belcher, whose team improved to 7-7 on the year and 2-1 in Region 2-AA. “The guys came out and played hard for a whole 32 minutes, instead of where we’ve been going slack in the first quarter in the last couple of games. They had it all night (Friday).”
